TODD AND SHEILA
RV Lifestyle Vloggers
: How did you know about Himiway?
: My wife Sheila is a researcher, she researches before purchasing anything! We’ve watched some of the RV YouTubers, they have the Rad. We looked the Rad, were not impressed. When Sheila discovered Himiway bike, we were looking at the quality online, we thought this is gonna be a good fit for us. Then Sheila purchased two of them.
: What's your first impression of the brand of Himiway?
: That bike is heavy! It was a WOW moment! Pros: Wrapped very well. Heaviness represents not flimsy, looks like a good quality product. Cons: Too heavy. We had to wait for a while, and Sheila’s bike came even 2 weeks later than the first one.
: Have you tried fat tire ebikes before riding Himiway? What are the top 3 things you look for when buying an ebike?
: No. I look for price, how far can I go(range), and the way it looks(appearance). We started originally to see if they could be compact, we did look a foldable one, didn’t like that idea, so we eliminated that. And then we liked the idea of it being rugged because of our lifestyle, we wanna be able to go all kinds of places. Sheila really likes Himiway’s appearance.
: Which Himiway model do you own now? Use 3 words to describe the bike.
: Cruiser and Step Thru. We like to name everything we have! Our tuck is Shrek, rig is Fiona, motorcycle is Donkey. 3 Words: O!M!G! lol I am not that kinda guy, I can’t think of 3 words to describe it. Sheila says stylish, durable, and it does what I need it to do(functional). Todd adds, proof in in the pudding(old phrase meaning a real worth, a good deal). You guys made a good quality bike, and we are super happy with it.
: Was it hard to assemble the bike on your own? How long did it take to assemble?
: Not at all, I did the assembly and I am a mechanical person, it took me 20-25 minutes. Being heavy is the hardest part getting it out of the box. My 74-year old dad bought a bike for himself and one for his girlfriend. And it’s not even hard for them to assemble. My dad even knows how to change the speed limit in the settings. I didn’t even read the manual, and still assembled it easily.
: How do you feel after taking it to a ride for the 1st time?
: Whooh! Riding 20 mph in the hallway. Thought it was super fun riding. It was cold outside, couldn’t ride, we went 20 mph down the apartment hall way, and we were screaming. Every time we put the bikes on the back of RV, guys keep asking for information about those e-bike. We just let them try them out. Once a late 50s guy just tried it for the first time and decided to buy one of these right away!
: What do you like the most about Himiway bike? (speed, battery, suspension, brake, hill climb, tire, appearance, etc.)
: Quality, Price, there are bikes that ridiculously expensive, like $5,000 to $7,000. I just enjoy the riding, Sheila likes the appearance and the battery life, they have 150-180 mileage on the bikes and only charged 2-3 times. She also like the ability to climb hills.
: Where have you been with you Himiway bike? Any fun stories you'd like to share?
: When the weather gets nicer, we are going to Mackinac Island. We are so excited to ride them over the bridge to the island. We’ve been to Grand Teton, Santa Barbara Island, Zion. We feel like HImiway is travel hack! Cause the national parks are always busy, and the parking sucks. In the Zion, we parked a mile away, and then pull the Himiway bikes out, ride the mile in. Anywhere when the parking is terrible, just park far away and then take bikes in. Sheila loves riding it on a beach in Panama city, Florida.
: Has the Himiway bike made any difference to your life?
: Yes! We can go farther, we can go to more places, we can experience and see other things that we wouldn’t be able to go to. A lot of more adventures.
: Where do you live in? Is the place you live a good place to ride ebikes/fat tire ebikes?
: We live everywhere, we are in a RV and travel all around the country, hopefully Canada some day.
: Where do you usually ride? Can you share any nice cycling routes that you've been to?
: We usually ride everywhere, on the mountains, on the road, on the path, on beach, in national parks.
: How many bikes (including normal bike, ebike, fat tire ebike...) do you own?
:Now we get rid of all our bikes, we just have these two. I don’t need another bike.
: Are ebikes still good exercise? Some people say riding an ebike is cheating. What do you think?
:When you get on a 6% grade, you go down, and then you are coming back up, you have it on 5th gear, 7th gear, you are still pedaling to get up, yeah, that’s freaking exercise, I was worn out that day! We did 18 miles, 8 miles was downhill, and the rest of it was coming out of that canyon, I weigh 211, it does great exercise for your knees. While others might say it’s “cheating”, our lifestyle just different, it opens doors that other things can’t do.
: What advice would you give to those who are considering getting a fat tire e-bike?
:Just get it!
